Benefits

When you become a mum, you'll
find that there is lots of help and
support available to you...

Even if you’ve never been entitled to benefits before, you will be now. For example, every child receives Child Benefit regardless of how much you or your partner earns. And did you know that even if you have a household income of up to approximately £58,000 (as at 06/04/2010), you’ll still be able to claim Child Tax Credits - although it may not be a lot!

In addition to Statutory maternity pay or Maternity allowance, there are lots of extra benefits out there to help make life easier for expectant and new mums. It might feel confusing trying to work out which ones might apply to you, but with our help, it doesn’t need to be.

To work out what you might be entitled to, take a look at our useful Benefits Calculator. And don’t forget to sign up to our Little Bird update emails, as we’ll write to you with useful reminders based on your due date.  We will also send you a free National Childbirth Trust DVD called 'Mum's the Word'.
