Tinchy helps kids learn
about cash

Chart-topping rapper Tinchy Stryder has backed a Government scheme to educate children about money.

The 20-year-old star shocked pupils at St Matthew Academy in Lewisham in London when he appeared to promote My Money.

The £10 million programme was launched in a bid to encourage schools to relate money tuition to the everyday lives of children.

Stryder was a perfect candidate to back the campaign after financing his first album. He said that he would have found things much easier had he been taught the basics of money at school.

He said: "Many young people have big dreams about their future, just as I did when I was younger. I had to work hard to make the money I needed to make those dreams come true.

"I'm so pleased to be supporting the My Money programme as I think it's really important that kids get taught about personal finance from an early age.

"I hope schools and young people across the country get on board with the My Money initiative, sign up to My Money Week and put personal finance firmly on the agenda."
