 "Hello and welcome to Money for Mums. I’d just like to congratulate you on the great news. As an expectant mum, you might be wondering just how much your new baby will change your life. It’s true that everything will be new and different for a while but, as I found out myself, no one can really prepare you for just how much you’ll love being a parent.
For example, it’s amazing how small things can give you so much pleasure – like sitting on the waters edge watching Charlotte and Rene paddle in the sea near where we live. It’s my favourite thing in the world – and yet, it doesn’t cost a thing.
Of course, not everything is free when you become a parent. It can be difficult to suddenly take a wage cut to start a family when you might have had a full-time income. But the good news is that there are lots of things out there to help mums cope – the main difficulty is often finding all the correct information in one place.
That's why I'm so excited about being a part of Money for Mums. We've gathered information from Government agencies and numerous other resources, as well as getting advice and hints from our panel of mums. What's more, I'll be adding my own tips to the mix to help you get the most out of this brilliant site. And that means you'll have more time to relax and eat chocolate!
